History

Coblands Landscapes became incorporated as a limited company in 1973 having grown a department of then parent company Coblands Nurseries.

The business based in Tunbridge Wells grew to provide conventional landscape construction services to both domestic and commercial clients and built its reputation for workmanship and service forging relationships with architects, house builders and public authorities that have lasted decades.

In 1994 a management buyout created a business independent from the remainder of the Coblands Group, Colin Viccars then became Managing Director; Geoffrey West, Chairman.

This provided the opportunity to explore new services and from which time our grounds maintenance contracting developed.

This involved multi-site maintenance for public utilities, for the then London Electricity and British Telecom covering the South East. We also attracted clients with prestige sites, English Heritage, Eltham Palace 1996, Roehampton University (1996); Kings Hill Business Park, (1997); all of whom remain valued clients today.

Our commercial sector capabilities grew to undertake major hard and soft landscaping within prestige construction projects; with the new services of soil stabilisation works and biobund construction.

In 2001 following founding Director, Geoff West’s departure, Fraser Kury became Contracts Director and has overseen seen steady growth for the Company.
New services have been developed to respond to environmental and ecological site management needs.
